I love television, no lie! This is a blog to save those nearest and dear to me from having to hear my passionate ramblings they care nothing about, and to allow me to have those passionate ramblings anyway!

Fringe is back TOMORROW!!!!
The countdown is finally over, and I'm sure you can figure it out by the title of this post, no, I'm not talking Glee today. Fringe is back tomorrow with what is sure to be a great episode all about when Peter died and Walter went to get the Peter we all now know and love (and adore and occasionally crush/obsess over...but that might just be me). I'm so excited....and you can bet that I'll be watching it on my little laptop as soon as is humanly possible (so yes, not 10 minutes after it airs on the TV...and I'll finish it about 10 minutes quicker! I love sidereel.com!!!)
On another note, I found this little article about a script for a musical episode of Fringe! Yes, I said musical...I didn't go and look for a more legitimate source, but if it's true I'm excited. So, fun, fun, fun!!!

Bazinga!!!
So, three years ago my good friend, Ethan, told me that I needed to watch the Big Bang Theory. I got about three episodes in and thought "ummmm...no." Now, this was due to a myriad of things one of which included insipid laughing that cheapens the already cheap name of sitcoms. I also thought that the characters were overly stereotypical and at times rather insulting. Fast forward to this weekend. I came across this pretty much awesome blog post about 12 hot geeks in TV and movies (naturally). Leonard and Sheldon were on the list...so I got curious and headed over to sidereel. I thought since I didn't like it the first time I'd start later in the series...season two to be exact. Well, needless to say, I love it! It totally reminds me of kids I knew and hung out with in high school...and the jokes are really funny!!! So yeah...more later, but I pretty much love the show!

Ok, I'll stop hyperventilating. I smiled, I gasped, I worried, I got excited (I would have squealed with joy if my roommates weren't watching a movie in the adjoining room...and due to the headphones I'm not completely sure I didn't). Sure, it wasn't Agent Bartowski (cuz, y'know, he's a REAL agent now so we can call him that...how freaking AWESOME is that?!!?!) shirtless or in glasses....but it was one intensely, epically, INCREDIBLE episode....best EVER are the words I have in mind right now! Yeah, so tonight's Chuck was pretty good, just thought I'd let you know.

Gratitude, Opinions, Arts Funding, and Facts
So, I'm in bed today trying to not be sick (and failing) mainly due to all the sing, sing, singing I've had to do and still have to do this week...I can NOT afford to be sick!!! So, what to do when you're in bed and sick of homework and can't sleep? Research of course! First off I'd like to say how grateful I am that I'm not a total gleek-head! There are some OBSESSED people out there! It's like with Buffy, no matter how obsessed I am with the show, I know for a fact that there are always people worse than me. I don't theme my living place around the show, I have no replica props, set pieces, or costumes from the show, no matter how on top of the latest news for the show I am, I'm not obsessed enough that I'm the first to hear it, etc. I'm glad for that fact about Buffy and about all the other shows I love...oh so glad!
On another note, can I just tell you how WEIRD it is to be in love with a show with such a HUGE fan base?!?!? That's sort of a new thing for me. It almost makes me want to hate the show, but then I go into my own little world and pretend that I'm the only one who's ever heard of Glee and that I know everything there is to know about it and I'm happy again and go back to obsessing over the audio/visual, idealized throw back to my high school days of being a somewhat star vocalist of my high school choir...ahhh, that's better!
Well, the point of this post is Glee. I was doing my little research thing (and realizing how MANY gleek-freaks there are out there and being grateful to not really, TOTALLY be one) And I found a quote from the creator, Ryan Murphy, that made me sit up, gasp, and cover my mouth with both hands (causing me to almost drop my computer) out of a mix of delight and surprise. He was talking about the episode where Neil Patrick Harris guest-stars. Apparently he was a rival of Mr. Schue's in high school, and he apparently hooks up with Sue in this episode...wow...but that's not what wowed me about this article. There are three little sentences that just make me so happy, as a TV fanatic and as a musician...and here they are:
For being a little weirded out by the fact that this show is incredibly popular I do just love it so much! Nearly everyone listens to music (even you "strictly science, art is stupid" wierdos...you might think you could live without art, but I know the truth...you have no idea how much of your life is CONSUMED by the work of artists), and for everyone who listens to music there is a different taste. I have been pleasantly surprised by the nice balance of music the show has. My favorite pieces are the Broadway and the Classic Rock, I don't really care for the other stuff, but the cool thing about the show is that you fall in love with the characters and there voices and that makes you want to hear more (at least for me anyway) and that's the beauty of the show.
A couple little tidbits of info I found out that was awfully intriguing:
Well, I believe I just wrote all this and didn't make too much sense with my buzzing, foggy head and my shallow breathing as a result of feeling like I have about a dozen of those little sword-shaped toothpicks stuck in my throat, but it was fun! And if you don't agree with me on a few of these things, that's fine...this is just the place I publish my opinions about things TV related...yeah, bye!

"It's a very great, sweet, important episode. We wrote it for Neil and for Joss. The whole episode is about arts funding and the importance of arts funding in high schools."First of all, they didn't just ask Joss to come...or NPH for that matter...they WROTE the episode for them!!!!!!!!!! (YAY!) And second of all ARTS FUNDING!!! This is one big reason I just ADORE the show! They make choir and music seem awesome. As a music major and love of all things art related I am so in favor of the push for arts funding, and with the massive numbers Glee has raking in I think they might have some pull...but then again, the people who are the anti-arts types are generally not the types to be watching a show all about song and dance...too bad :( (Curse you all who believe that the world is strictly scientific and that arts are of no value...you know who you are...I went to high school with a few of you and you heard a piece of my mind then...argue me and you'll hear it again!!!)

A couple little tidbits of info I found out that was awfully intriguing:
- Rachel gets a boyfriend whose name follows the Glee custom of being incredibly cheesy: Jesse St. James...hot lead vocalist of Vocal Adrenaline and the actor, Jonathan Groff, was her counterpart when she was in Spring Awakening (this info makes me kind of sad cuz I'm a HUGE fan of Finn, but hey, I've gotten used to this kind of disappointment from the many shows I've watched :( but still!!!)
- Puck has a fling with Mercedes
- We see Artie out of his wheelchair (but it's only in a dream he has)
- Lady Gaga has given permission for Glee to do one of her songs (she's a freak, and she bugs me, but she has some really fun music!)

I swoon for studs in specs
Ok, there are those occasional times where I literally squeal with geeky fan-girl joy...and that happened tonight...a couple times. So, I was sitting on the couch supposed to be working on homework (which still lies on the coffee table undone) and I was watching tonight's episode of Chuck. I love it already and already want to marry a guy as smart as Chuck who has a computer in his brain, occasional super powers, is a Stanford graduate, a secret agent, a total geek, and is just as completely adorable as Mr. Bartowski...and then they go and give him the one thing that just puts him over the top in my book as hottest guy on the face of the planet: glasses!!! (I believe that the one true way to see if a guy is really as hot as you think is, put glasses on him...if he becomes more attractive, then you've got yourself a winner!)
If you haven't yet seen Chuck vs. the Final Exam, I'm warning you, there are a few spoilers if you proceed. So, first there were the glasses that made me as giddy as a fan-girl at Comic Con, then the test that went along with them...I know for a fact that I was not the only girl who was not a little excited with the shirtless Zachary Levi (does that make me a bad person...I sure hope not). Then the him/Sarah almost kiss: ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?! Their relationship is so thickly complicated that it actually might literally be driving me crazy! I have got to not be the only one in the world that just wants to see the two of them run away to some tropical island away from EVERYTHING and live happily ever after. But will that ever happen?! Not on the likely!!!!! GAH!!! Yup, crazy, right here!
Ok, besides all that, Casey...really?! REALLY?!?!?!?! Wow! I mean when I saw the teaser I was stunned that Chuck would shoot someone...and then...REALLY!!!!! It was crazy...insane...and unfortunately following the sad trend of the season with being slightly depressing with the whole Sarah thinking that Chuck really killed someone. So sad! (Awesome personal side note: two of my favorite TV characters, in action-y shows no less, have great aversions to guns--Buffy and Chuck...awesome!)
But yes, I'm in love with Chuck, and the show's good too!! *sigh* My inner geek is happy!

Concern, Obsession, Confession
Sorry (Davis) that I haven't been here for a while. School has piled up and although that doesn't really slow down my TV watching (ok, it does...but not much, and I only eliminate the unnecessary shows), it does slow down the blogging about it quite a bit!
There are three things I'd really like to mention before I have to jet off to class: a concern, an obsession, and a confession.
Concern:
I've been worried as I watch Caprica. First of all, it doesn't feel BSG at all (which isn't entirely bad) but I'm worried about Zoe and Tamara. They seem to be getting so dark so fast! I want Zoe to tell her dad...I understand why she doesn't want to, but I think it'd be a good move for her as a person to accept her humanity, and I'm sorry, but a BSG spin-off with only one Cylon is kind of ridiculous!!! If she makes herself known it'd be easy to make more Cylons: either make more avatars to go with that chip thing or clone Zoe and stuff (probably the first since later they need the help of the skin jobs for resurrection and stuff). Also...Zoe, PLEASE START ACTUALLY FALLING FOR THE CUTE GEEK THAT WORKS FOR YOUR DAD!!!!!!!! (Ok, just a personal wish/desire/fantasy of mine: that she FINALLY gets together with him...and one that I won't dwell over too much!) And from this last episode, this whole Tamara thing is starting to get that crazy, creepy, occult feeling! It kind of sent shivers down my spine when I saw all those "T"s on the wall. Yikes!
K, I've got just a few minutes to finish this and I've still got formatting to do and pics to add and two more things to write about...ready Go!
Obsession:
CHUCK!!! I love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!! Now, I believe that for shows on the air Glee and Chuck are my absolute favorites...and if you ask me to choose a number one I'm not so sure I could! I'm just grateful that so far they haven't been on at the same time so I don't have to choose.
Now, Chuck is a smart dramedy and that's why I LOVE it!!! It has a good balance of everything: action, comedy, drama, sci-fi, etc. etc. I don't like shows that are too intense and I don't love shows that don't balance their comedy. Add to that my adoration for action and sci-fi and you've got my number one show (Glee's got the music, comedy, and high school drama...that's why...but I'm getting off track) Well, the episode that aired week before last (Chuck vs. the Beard) was AMAZING!!!!! This season has felt a little off what with the new intersect and the increase in ratings (plus the suddenly new "Superman"y drama...I say that in regards to the fact that Shaw played Superman, not that it's Superman type drama...off track again! dang it!!!) Well, I was guessing from the title that either Chuck and Morgan's friendship would end, or that he'd finally get in on the secret Awesome style...and I was right on both regards!!!! It's been a long time since I've squealed with delight with Chuck, but last quarter of this ep I was nearly jumping up and down cheering (not that I've never done that before with TV, but I managed to maintain composure and only did the jumping on the inside...the cheering was audible and I think I freak my roommates out.) But yes, when he finally told Morgan everything, and Morgan's reaction was perfect, and the he came from the smoke all secret agent style and called Sarah, Agent Walker, and his convo with Awesome (or was that last week?) but yeah....legendary episode!!!
Last week's wasn't bad...the whole Casey being with the Ring because he was protecting the woman he loved and then finding out he had a daughter (and he went all Casey and wouldn't do anything about it) and then getting discharged....it was awesome, don't get me wrong, it was just really sad. (There have been too many sad episodes of Chuck!!!) Yes, that's my obsession: Chuck!!!
Confession:
I've been watching Modern Family....and I LOVE it!!! I really didn't think I'd like it all that much due to my personal aversion to the gay life style (don't hate me, judge me, or whatever...I love the people, freaked out by the life choices, but still love the people!) But it's been great! I love the family dynamics and the love that each family member has for the others! Plus it's funny, a great (short...as in not 42+ minute) distraction, and it takes no brain power to watch at all (which during the school year is my kind of show). That's not to say that it's not sometimes smart...ok, not too often, but still. It's a great show, just the right amount of dumb. There are a few things that bug me about it and I thought the grandpa would be one of them, but he's not at all!!! That little family with him, Gloria, and Manny is the BEST!! No, it's the dad. He's kind of a wannabe Michael Scott, but the version where he actually got married and had kids. Yeah, I think above all, the dad bugs me bad! The gayness freaks me out, but I love the dynamic between (ok, all names are lost on me now)...them. How the one tries to act straight and the other embraces all gay stereotypes...great fun!
So, that's basically all I have time for...I will try to post more often, and I promise I will if and when I have more readers, but until then, I'm afraid school work takes precedence. (Sorry Davis! Love you tho!)

6 reasons I just can't wait for Glee to come back!!!!
Ok, I CANNOT wait for Glee to come off hiatus! (Only a month and 12 days left!!!!!) Well, even though I do ADORE the show I have six specific reasons why and here they are:
Yes, I'm excited for the guest stars!!! Oh, it's all so exciting! I can't wait!!!
~Manda
P.S. Just check out how much Idina Menzel and Lea Michelle look alike...it's uncanny, they could SERIOUSLY be sisters or something!!!!
Neil Patrick Harris (playing a diabolical Dr. Horrible type guy)
Olivia Newton-John (apparently playing a friend of Sue's)
Molly Shannon (astronomy teacher, badminton coach, and
nemesis of Sue...oh, how exciting!)
Idina Menzel (playing Vocal Adrenalin's vocal coach...
Imagine...Idina Menzel being your VOCAL COACH...yeah, wow!!!)
...and the most exciting one? Of course, it's gotta be Joss!!!
He starts directing his episode this month!!!
